Respite Wednesday

The hill is like an old woman,
All her human obligations met,
Who sits at work day after day,
In a kind of rapt leisure,
At an intricate embroidery.

She has time for all things.

Because she does not expect ever to be finished,
She is endlessly patient with details.

She perfects flower and leaf,
Feather and song,
Adorning the briefest life in a great beauty
As though it were meant to last forever.

~~ Wendell Berry ~~
"A Native Hill"
from The Art of the Commonplace

The garden is looking so beautiful! My daffodils are gone, so now I can enjoy yours. I'm thinking I need some new low to the ground southern heat loving perennials. My hydrangeas made it through the late freeze/snow alright they look just fine.

this scene looks very peaceful.
Thank you for your payers and concern for my mom and myself. All is going well and I know God continues to work for her., She is walking well with the walker and doing her exercises. She will probably come home next week.
Hope you have a wonderful second half of this week.

Warmly,
Jennifer

I love Wendell Berry's books.

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my posts. There's so many things I think to write you, but then life moves forward, and I forget.

Like ... I too wear clogs and love my handknit socks with them.

Can't think now of other things I've wanted to share.
