Up the Lazy River

Rivers know this: there is no hurry.
We shall get there some day.

~~ Winnie The Pooh ~~

* * * * *

I rolled out the deck rug, set up the seating, smoothed out the damask . . .

. . . brewed White Jasmine tea, arranged the macaroons . . .

. . . and then sat out under the clear blue skies, watching a jet mimic a shooting star.

I eased my way through the afternoon tea hour, being joined by various sippers and nibblers. Even Mr. Bingley expressed interest in my little respite .

So much work for a mere cup of tea? It proved worth it . . . if only for a single day (though I see no sign of rain on the horizon and shall surely sit out again tomorrow if given half the chance).

; )

Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge
And lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you,
You will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

Your new deck looks wonderful... how is it that I have not seen it in person. Or has my memory failed me? Was it done on Reformation Day? Oh bother. ;-) Yes, now I recollect a small herd of wild children running circles within its border.

"I will never not remember you."
~~~Winnie The Pooh~~~
I've enjoyed myself so much this morning. I played catch-up all the way back to Christmas! Your posts are beautiful and I left comments, so when you have time, take a peek (I need the recipe for the Mexican meal!).
Is there room for one more at the table? I love Jasmine tea. What a lovely place to take tea and enjoy the day.
Hugs to you my dear and thanks for causing me to look at life a bit differently today. I'm excited to see it unfold.
Love you! XO
Ah! Wise Winnie..., I love "the Pooh".
Isn't California wonderful? Yesterday I pruned and cleaned up the garden and took a walk. I love where we live. This my be a respite from winter and I know we need more rain, but this weather is just a treat.
I'm a bit envious that you can sit outside and sip tea. I guess I could here, but would be frozen fast in 10 minutes. Enjoy your wonderful alone-time!
Well hello again.
It's really nice looking at your photos and reading your post. I used to like Summer, Autumn and Winter but never looked forwards to Spring. Now, these past few years I look forwards to them and this year in particular I just can't wait.
I think things have changed for me since the Lord saved me. Also, heomschooling Sean helps me notice things more.
Just the other day I was looking out the backand remembering sitting out there last Summer and enjoying the outdoors. I think I will post photos, the same place Summer and Winter!
May the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
Take care and keep up the blogging. It is such a breath of fresh air and a tonic.
I have to say, you really have a knack for savor every single precious moment don't you? You are one of those special people that can make something as mundane as getting the mail or washing the windows seem like a gift from God himself. Thank you so much for sharing your unique perspectives with all of us. Your lovely writing truly has a positive influence in the world!
I visited in CA briefly when my Coast Guard son was in San Diego one summer. Beautiful. We had 80 degrees today which isn't normal. We need rain so badly. Everything is covered with layers of dirt. It is not easy to grow beautiful plants here with the high summer heat and lack of rain. I enjoy trying. Your respite on the deck looks inviting.
Oh God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Ps 108:1
