A Promise in the Midst of the Storm

"Oh my!" She cried
As she stepped through the front door.
"Water, water everywhere!"

But rather than scan about
For gopher wood and pitch,
She decided to take comfort
In the rainbow's promise.

I set My rainbow in the cloud,
And it shall be for the sign [that] . . .
The waters shall never again become a flood
To destroy all flesh.

Genesis 9:13,15

From her weekend waltz around the gardens she recalled:

The RED of the flowering crabapple

The ORANGE of the Narcissus Cragford

The YELLOW of the first forsythia bloom

The GREEN of the weeping willow

The rich BLUE of the sky

And the deep VIOLET of the fragrant lilac
Completing the rainbow's spectrum.

Today, with the exception of the blue sky,
All gemtones remained, albeit soggily.
She knew the blue would return
Whence the storm had run its course.

And so she smiled,
Having found her colorful promise,

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day . . .
Ezekiel 1:28

Hi Debbie - you always brighten's my days whenever I opened your blog. And I enjoyed your music, especially when I have to do monotenous job like shredds my document papers after the year-end work.

When I don't see your blog with new things - I worry.

Everything is fine - no flood from our creek - thank heaven.

I always remind myself that where there are shadows there has to be light! I can hardly wait for spring this year. We have been teased with sunny days for almost 3 weeks and we don't want it to go away. I miss lilacs, we don't have those here. I will have to content myself with your lovely photos once yours are in bloom :-)

awhhh your catchin up with us in the flowering dept, and we;ve had a touch of snow and still cold nights. I haven't uncovered my hydrangeas yet but I guess I will tomorrow.
Glad that water stayed right where it was on the sidewalk. You have had a lot of snow melt but that will be a blessing in the summer.
