Miss Lydia on . . .

The Swing
by Robert Louis Stevenson

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

I loved to swing when I was a child! The poem expresses it beautifully.

Is there anything more carefree than swinging? You simply can not be stressed out while swinging.
Lovely. :)

I love this poem! Knew that one hardy har har.... I can't swing anymore because of the ear stuff but I used to hit the treetops I just know I did!
My garden needs you. The fall clean up is at a disaster stage. The house looks nice, the yard,... ooooh the last frost changed plants into something slimy that resembles this other gross substance that has something to do with bodily functions.

By the way, I love the twelve days of Christmas idea, but HOW are you going to do that? 4 calling birds, would you like some Mockingbirds?
3 french hens? how about the maids a milking? How how how? the suspense is getting to me you know I am losing sleep at night. OCD or CDO is you need things in their right order.
WISH we could have another visit.
I want to go to the Piggies for eggnog...

hug the biguns...

And the swing remains my favorite playground object. You are never too old for a swing. Sigh.
