Sunday Wonder

Happy Mother's Day

At any given moment,
Our children can sense
Whether we're having
A firsthand relationship with God,
because
Long before children can read words
They can read hearts.

* * *

A mother once told me
She'll never completely
Fill the "gaps" in her parenting.
But she realized
They provide the opportunity
For Christ to shine through
So the child sees only Christ,
Not her failures.

~~ Monte Swan ~~
from Romancing Your Child's Heart

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD:
And the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalm 127:3

What a beautiful sentiment! Happy Mother's Day to you, my new, dear friend.

It was 17 years ago today that our family lost the rudder of our family. She lost her battle with breast cancer. We all feel that loss today.

Started reading the quote Debbie, thinking it familiar, and then saw Monte's name and book! Glad you're enjoying the book and getting to know us more.

Happy Mother's Day. I so enjoy your playlist and wandering thru your ponderings and pictures. My garden is behind yours (daffodils and tulips, and lilacs and apples budding to bloom), but quickly catching up.

And the chicks ... I so miss them! Maybe next year (Dawson says we should just do ducks and geese ...). One of our memories is the post office calling us to some get our chicks and on the cart next to them was a crate of buzzing bees!

Happy Mother's Day to you.

Hello Debbie,
I want you to know how things have fared with Sean. We got a puppy two weeks ago and I believe God has used this to restore Sean to his former self. He is not saved but at least now he agrees that God is real!

We had picked a dog from the pound but when we phoned them to ask them to hold it for us they told us it had gone just 5 minutes before we phoned them. Anyway, eventually we got our beautiful puppy and Sean said that God must have wanted us to get him because He stopped us getting the first dog. I told Sean that I agreed, especially since when Niall gave the owner of our new puppy a gift of a Bible, she was delighted with it and said she really wanted one!

I suggested that if he realy did believe that God was real that he should start praying again and especially thank him for the puppy.

So, now we are back to normal. He is praying with us during our family bible time. Thanks for your prayers.

God bless,

Ruth
