Faerie Tale Friday

*SOB*

"Oh Rhett you'll just never guess what I've gone and done. I'm so ashamed! Why, I was all set to blog about something so important and then it just flew right out of my head! Oh you know I can never keep my grammar straight when I'm wearin' a new bonnet (which I am not wearin' now, but I was then)."

"Soooo . . . with nothing on my mind I jus' up and plopped down on the sofa next to Miss Lydia and we had the most delightful time watchin' part one of Gone With The Wind. Oh, it's really an amazing movie -- one of my all time favorites. I jus' couldn't bear to miss it!"

"But, now you see my dilemma . . . NO POST!"

(*SOB*sniffle, sniffle*SOB*)

[Rhett gallantly hands Scarlett a monogrammed hankie,
which she demurely accepts and THEN KEEPS!! *gasp*]

"And what's worse . . . "

[Music rises to a crescendo . . . ]

"I intend to do the same thing tomorrow night when we watch part two!!"

"O fiddle-de-dee,
I can't think of that right now.
I'll think of that tomorrow.
After all . . .
Tomorrow is another day."

* * * * *
For the record: I require the reading of the book before the viewing of the film. NO EXCEPTIONS, since we ruined Little Women for Lydia by fudging and watching the Kathryn Hepburn version before she finished the book. : (

Hi Debbie

Than you so much for visiting my blog and leaving your lovely comment.

Gone With The Wind - a favourite of mine - especially the book - it has so many interesting details that are left out in the movie.

have a wonderful weekend!

Oh my. I remember reading Gone With the Wind while in high school. I hated Scarlett so much that I skipped the last 100 pages and read the last chapter. She was horrid.

Clever post. Gave me a chuckle. Ah, back when men were men and women were women. Esp if they were movie stars. Hope you have a fun evening seeing part II.

it's a GREAT movie!!!! Love it. First time I saw it my Grandma took me on the bus to San Francisco. We met my Aunt Bella and went to a "big Screen" theater. I BAWLED my eyes out. It was an incredible day. Grandma and my Aunt were dressed to the 9's pearls, mink stoles, long gloves the whole bit. I wanted her to love Rhett so badly and I was just a girl. Couldn't see what was the big deal about Ashley. Wimpy Ashley. How bout that MAMMY? Her red petticoat! What a great idea think I'll go plug it in and bake some cookies too.

Just looking at the photo puts me in a good mood!
I love cuddling up with Sean on the sofa, with the fire lit, watching an old movie...

This made me smile! But what I really wanted to say was that I've enjoyed so much listening to the music on your blog tonight as I've done some other work on my computer. Thanks for choosing such beautiful music!!!

You know, I haven't seen that movie in ages. I may have to introduce my daughter to it over the weekend.

The book is read almost yearly, without exception. It's my all time favorite.
