Respite Wednesday

I'm off on a flight of fancy . . .
. . . And an afternoon of musing . . .
. . . About the bareroot roses I just ordered:

10 Harlow Carr for a floriferous hedge to skirt the deck,

. . . 3 James Galways as pillars to adorn the deck,

. . . And a single perfumed Anne Boleyn to be potted on the deck.

When my sweet-scented daydreaming comes to an end,
I shall lie back in wickered comfort
and doze for just a bit.

T'is a life I love.

Oh, wonderful! Gardening thoughts in January are heavenly. I broke out my gardening books and magazines, but I haven't let myself get involved yet.

What beautiful roses. Planting them bare root is fun. I loved watching them sprout little leaves and finally little buds that turned into gorgeous flowers. I love roses.

Ah Nantucket. Do you know in the 28 years that I lived on Cape Cod I only went over once. Now they have a high speed ferry though so it is easier. Those are some gorgeous roses! It's going to be so beautiful around your deck. I mailed your pkge on Tuesday. Be well, Suki

Way too early for roses here yet! The bush is sleeping, but springs forth in April to bloom until next November....how I miss my roses.
I had to look several times to see if those were really roses or pictures of roses.
